Live & Let Live

"Look at the shoes your filling. Look at the blood we're spilling.
Look at the world we're killing. The way we've always done before. Look in the doubt we've wallowed.Look at the leaders we've followed. Look at the lies we've swallowed.
And I don't want to hear no more."

A little after the fast broke here in Islamabad a massive suicide truck bomb devastated the heavily guarded Marriott Hotel, killing at least 40 people and wounding another 200. A dozen more are feared dead, trapped inside the rubble including Danish, US, Saudi and citizens from various other countries.

A recent rash of civilian deaths from U.S. airstrikes and military operations in Afghanistan and Pakistan has been feeding widespread outrage and anger in these countries toward the U.S.
Afghan President Hamid Karzai has condemned recent U.S. attacks in his country, while the Pakistan government had filed a formal protest. The backlash of these actions to rid their personal problems is being faced by the innocent men & women of these poor developing nations.

To top if all off, the nation's leadership only sits and gives feeble comdemnation statements that anyone least concerned with pakistan would make. When a government official was contacted , instead of accepting the blast as a security lapse, he comforts himself with the thought that no one of "importance" was killed or hurt.

The rest of the people of this country seem like cattle to our honorable leadership. Had that not been the case, concrete steps would've been taken to avoid such a massive loss of life and property. They wage a war which even the US themselves admit is going nowhere, all the while piling the blame on Pakistan. Simply demanding "do more, do more". Pakistan has yet again given sacrifice in the shape of our own citizens being slaughtered by their brethren. How much "more" do you possibly want from us?

Today we have witnessed yet again that Pakistan has suffered the most through cooperation with the US on this so called "War on Terror", which should rather be called "War of Terror" to befittingly describe its impact on our own country and the US Government's image around the world.

We, the Pakistanis, dont know what to do. To mourn the impotence of our government or to condemn US attacks on our soil or to blame the self created " Taliban". For a war that never was ours . We vehemently condemn all forms of terrorism and loss of life. But that is not what this so called "War on Terror" has set out to eliminate. Rather the "War on Terror" is a intelligence-blunder littered mismanaged war to take control of all the worlds strategic assets for the sole benifit of the american agenda of world dominance.

On record , US has always been all-smiles to Pakistan , coining terms like "Non-Nato Ally" just to exploit the current situation , falsly assuring us of not attacking our soil or our sovereignty . We , the Pakistani's, have only one thing to say to "Uncle Sam" or simply "Sam" since we'd never like to consider him as our Uncle.

We want nothing to do with you or your War of Terror. Leave us alone. We hope that atleast these words could affect the mere strands of moral fiber that may be left somewhere in the west. That this message can get to someone who isnt brain-dead or soulless.

We mourn the loss of the lives of our brethren as well as the loss of the lives of foreign citizens, whose protection was our duty once they stepped into Pakistan.

May those responsible, burn in eternal hell.

"War is enjoyable to those who've had no experience of it" - Erasmus

"My hands are tied. For all I've seen has changed my mind, but still the wars go on as the years go by. With no love of God or human rights. 'Cause all these dreams are swept aside, by bloody hands of the hypnotized. Who carry the cross of homicide and history bears the scars of our civil wars"
UPDATE: According to an official statement, the death toll has risen to 53 and the injured at 250. The Czech Ambassador to Pakistan, has also been confirmed as the ones amongst the dead.

If we all have to bleed to our deaths, then i'd much rather bleed to on our beloved soil, that gave us our identity in the first place.

You just have to ask why.

Why are people so hell bent on causing pain and terror to innocent people?

There is something very wrong in the world and it seems that we are all being punished for something, religious people think its the 2nd coming but religion to me is what causes this awful mess.

It will never change but you just have to hope that nobody else dies in the name of religious war, or terrorism.

My thoughts are with the families of the victims.

The Goon said...

That is just terror of unimaginable proportions.

How can someone do that?

The Goon said...

thats the thing, you just cant imagine.

Its just off the scale totally.

last week someone i know died in a car crash at 18, 18 years old, someone with a whole life ahead of them. Thats been repeated by about 70 times, the girls death was catastophic but this attack, the venom and murderous intent is just cataclysmic.

Humans are hitting the self destruct button, in effect, eating themselves up.

My heart goes out to the friends and families of those individuals who lost their lives and to those survivors whose lives have been changed 4 ever bcuz of da actions of these terrorists,I pray they may find hope, courage and peace in the days ahead to help them cope wid these malicious acts.

I hope da resposible parties will be captured and brought to justice ,denying them da chance to inflict death ,pain and sufferin on future innocent citizens. We must remain united to fight this battle of horrific evil, called terrorism. To allow terrorism to rule our lives is an atrocity in itself, denying us da freedoms to which we so strongly cling. Our great country was founded on the principles of freedom, one nation ,indivisible, under God.

May it always be so!

International press now refers to Pakistan as a 'failing state'. What a sad state of affairs!

Where is this nation headed?

What comes next?

had this been our fight,no one of us would have been this sad.for sacrificing you need to have a cause.do we have a cause?do we know why so many innocent people and soldiers have been mrtyred?we are fighting someone else's fight and in both cases it will be us who will be on the losing side.if our government dont realise it soon,we can all hope for worse time than this one

We`ve brought this on our selves.
1) We aren`t a real muslim country.
2) We aren`t real muslims.
3)Our media is 'complexed' and looks upto the american media in terms of its ability to impress or make false, 'more' tantalizing impressions on our people and our people have become lesser muslims because of it.
4)We have really stretched Musharraf`s roshan khialee to a large extent in our daily lives.
5) We are involved in killing other muslims daily and helping america in doing so.
6)We pretend to want to 'wake up' every time something like this happens. Don`t worry even this will die out and we`ll again become complacent. So let`s not fool ourselves are write on online forums/blogs about how sad we or how horrible this is. Why shouldn`t we expect this?

V r living in an unpredictable n horrible world. There is an unconscious fear engraved in each one of us dat dis time wen v go out of our homes whether v will ever cum back or v’l becum martyrs from an unwanted death. Innocent ppl r killed and the criminals r living in luxuries. But no one shud 4get dat dere is sumfin called “here after” n v’l all hav to ans 4 our deeds. My condolence and sympathies are wid da suffering ppl but I hav a hope dat ALLAH ALMIGHTY is watchin it all. N He will punish da murderers n da disguised criminals sitting on da top in a way no man ever can.

This is a sorry state of affairs. Why? Because certain countries, blinded by so called power, believe the rest of the world was born yesterday. As far as Muslims are concerned, the non-Muslims comment about Islam and jihad without any knowledge. Our Holy book, the Quran, carries the message of peace much more than any other Holy book. It talks about human rights more than any other Holy book. It talks about forgiveness and mercy more than any other Holy book. It talks about love more than any other Holy book. Yet Muslims are terrorists.
We have forgotten the concept of something called a ‘legitimate’ balance of retaliation. We all know the number of casualties of 9/11. But that’s all the Americans have counted. Their calculators malfunctioned when it was time to calculate the murders all around the world done by their country in return. Are you a peaceful country? It’s a simple question, really. Were the victims of 9/11 more precious than the MILLIONS killed in return? I’m sorry, I forgot to say ‘and counting’. Yet they own the war on terror as if it’s something holy. We have families as well.
I would like to make one thing clear. There isn’t any Muslim behind such acts. Our Holy Book rejects all kinds of acts of violence except in defense. As far as the geo-political motive is concerned, it’s pretty simple. The world, especially Europe was going against the border disrespect of Pakistan. So America wanted some foreigners dead to have a reason. Because now they will have a good reason to reason themselves in front of those very opposing countries. The irony is, they always get a call from some one who has some ‘Islamic’ group, who claims responsibility at once! Should I laugh here? If CIA is so intelligent, why are they loosing the war on terror to some uneducated, weapon laden ‘Bin Laden’ followers? And I frankly don’t even believe any one named Bin Laden even exists. He’s just the son of some power hungry…never mind.
