Well, I was clicking about looking for "Arsenal sign David Villa" type of news and well, we all know what could have happened next. Anyways, the recent comments by le boss that we'd sing one more player has thus far yielded nothing and instead has seen a player go out.
Yesterday Gokhan Inler apparently "snubbed" a move to the Grove and today I found a bit of news floating about that Arsenal have not yet made an approach to Liverpool for Xabi Alonso.
If all the players that have been categorically linked with a move to the grove have now been "unlinked" then does it really actually mean that arsene is happy with the current squad and actually thinks that this squad can realistically challenge for titles this season? Is this the end for Arsenal? Are we doooooooooooooommmmmmmmmmmeeeeeeeeeeeddddd?
Well it all comes down to your personal perspectives on this, do you seel the glass half empty or half full?
For me personally, I know Arsene knows, The squad we had last year was completely written off and instead got off to a flyer and then sort of umm came across a bit of turbulence and then well err made an erratic landing but what we did do is prove everyone completely wrong.
Even if we don't make signings, I know le boss loves the red & white and he knows what he's doing. And yet, I have this sneaky feeling we'd be making that elusive signing just a second before the transfer window closes.

i want 2 signings too. i wud hv luved xabi and inler at da emirtaes.
well....i m pretty much sure that no big name like xabi or barry is coming in....but i hope wenger signs some animal...made of steel who can do the job that viera did over the years for arsenal.....
I agree with you kazmi, the last signing we made in the vieira mould was of Diaby but ever since that injury back in '06, he eeps picking up various niggles that sidelines him for eons it seems.
Its time we bring in some quality, don't splash 30, 40 million pounds on one player, spend around 11, 12million and get another henry or spend 6.0 million and get another pires.
Ok, we can do two things.
Get rid of our youth system and keep on bringing the players what Chelsea, Manu or Liverpool used to do.
Or lets put some faith in the Youths, XABI will cost you around 15-16 million. the most lavish signing by Arsenal is of Reyes and it yield us nothing.
Lets do it the BORO way. trust your youth,
